Hyperlocal

In your area, you can have a number of Community websites with links between them, this brings the Hyper into Local. If you are a Virtual Community Group, this is a group with no office or base usually managed by volunteers. This is for you

A Virtual Office (Backoffice)  can be used to maintain your list of members, their regular membership fees and their contact details. It can also hold a list of events and publish these on your groups' event diary. Along with these come the Group Forums, easy to maintain webpages and fantastic communications tools.

When you look at where you live you know who has set up the Neighbourhood Watch what about something a little different, where your street is linked to other streets in your area with good contact points and a collective voice in the local community.

Apart from trying to keep a watch out for burglars and open doors, there are other things you can do such as:-

  • Winter plans
If you live on a hill this could mean getting together to do a bit of snow clearing or even getting a salt bin and some salt.
  • Summer Party
Great to organise a street party and bring neighbours together
  • Tea Time
The occasional cup of tea and a book swap.
  • Car Parking
Depending on where you live you can ask to supervise your street parking yourselves.
